Tia & Andrew planned a fresh, modern Hill-Physick House wedding that was totally them! Their intimate ceremony & reception was held in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia. I was honored to be brought on as their coordinator for the day. We started working together 4 weeks before their wedding date. My main focus was to learn what mattered most to Tia and Andrew for their wedding and execute that to perfection. Tia recently flattered me by saying, “Looking back, the day was truly special, and I still think about how relieved I was after our initial call. We owe much of the success to your hard work!” I’m so happy I was able to help with the last-minute details and communicating with vendors. This allowed my couple to relax leading up to their wedding day. I absolutely fell in love with Tia & Andrew and wish we could have spent more time working together!
Tia & Andrew met in art school in 2006 but didn’t start dating until 2008. During a trip to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Andrew popped the question. As lovers of art and design (Tia -a buyer for a stylish gift shop at an art museum and Andrew -a graphic designer for a large retailer), a wedding at a historic home was a perfect fit.
The day was unusually warm and humid for a fall Philadelphia wedding. The sun shined beautifully throughout the city. I visited with Tia as she and her loved ones were getting hair & makeup done to prepare for the big day. They were relaxed and happy – you could feel the love in the air.
The Hill-Physick House, a premier Philadelphia wedding venue, opened for wedding guests to tour before the start of the ceremony. As guests arrived, they were greeted by the ethereal sounds of a keyboardist in the garden, where the ceremony took place. The ceremony began with Tia and Andrew walking down the aisle together, hand in hand. Such a special moment. Friends and family were incorporated throughout their intimate ceremony. A friend of the couple officiated their Quaker-Style union and both Tia’s and Andrew’s sisters read poems chosen by the couple. A long-time friend of Andrew’s also prepared his own reading to share. The couple shared the vows they wrote for one another and the heartfelt ceremony concluded with a beautiful rendition of “Halo” sung by Andrew’s sister Natalie.
The cocktail-style reception offered seating in the garden under a tent and dancing beneath bistro lights. Inside the home was additional seating, a delectable grazing table that was later flipped to house desserts, and a coffee bar in the Green Room. Tia & Andrew infused themselves into their wedding by offering an exclusively vegan affair. Not only did they have a vegan caterer, but their cake & desserts were vegan as well, along with all the drinks offered at the coffee bar. I still crave those pumpkin cupcakes with chai icing! Andrew put his touch on the day by designing their programs, signage, and even the labels on their favors. Their style was carried throughout every element, truly making it their day.
“We got our photos back a few weeks ago and the night looked just as incredible as we remembered. We can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work and expertise in making our wedding a magical evening that our families are still raving about! Thank you for being an invaluable resource and treating us and our big day with love and dedication.”
